Some Ruby business....

Do not adjust your glasses, it's true, you are seeing Ruby's Drinking Chart. Let me 'splain. She got super sick, (in the sickness that was called January and February 2011) and she wasn't drinking ANYTHING. We made her a drinking chart so there wasn't any dehydration or hospital visits. She got a sticker for every cup of liquid...water, kool-aid, Gatorade, juice, Mt Dew.....whatever I could get down her throat. That's all....

Then, she got a hole in her mouth. Her first tooth fell out, with a little help from her Mom, who couldn't stand the snaggle tooth any longer.

We're both so happy.

The Tooth Fairy didn't get to come for a few nights because Ru wanted to "look at her tooth still".

This is what Ruby's hair looked like on crazy hair/clothes day. (Dr Seuss' birthday week) Maddy's boy teacher didn't let them dress up cause they had a test that day and he thought it would be too distracting. Maddy's favorite day of the year is crazy hair/clothes day. At least she got to help with Ruby's outfit, which was equally as wack-a-doo.

This is what her head looked like after a wild night of sleeping. Pretty cute. Some people pay good money to get that from a salon.

That girl's a natural beauty, even with crazy hair.

THe end.

The best thing I ever taught Maddy.....

Maddy's next lesson...... Beard trimming. It's hands down my least favorite hair to cut.

Who's kid is that......

Other possible names for this post: What was I thinking?, Is that Stephanie from Lazy Town..., Where was that child's mother.... Is her name Candy.... Ruby wants to be like "PINK"-the singer- ( she does love to sing "so what, I'm still a rock star...." )

I seem to have a screw loose. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to turn Ruby's hair FUCHSIA.

She has been super dooper at doing her jobs lately, (it might be because she wants to play with a certain Jayton from her class, but that's another story for another time)

and she's been wanting her hair colored for a really long time.

So yesterday, I put 15 foils of "Raspberry" in this 4 -and a half- year old child's head. It would seem that 15 foils is about 12 foils too many. It would seem that it's......

REALLY REALLY pink and she REALLY REALLY loves it.

This is the face I got when I said we needed to strip some of the color out. I may need to go into hiding. The bad mom police will soon be knocking on my door. And perhaps the hair police too.

In my defence, and probably for the record, I've put this color on her head before (not 15 foils worth) and it didn't go this vibrant. Probably next time I won't add heat to it and leave it on for quite as long. What a bad hairstylist.

Hairy scary...

Me: "Ru, what are you eating?"

Ruby: "Hair."

Me: "DON'T eat your hair!"

Ruby: "It wasn't from me"

Me: "AHHHhhhhhh gross"

The "Me" is disgusted.

Crazy? I was crazy once...

How do you do your kids hair for school? If you're me, and Elasta Girl is your daughter, you do this...

It was crazy hair day at school. She was a Celebrity in the halls and was truly in hair heaven.

Elasta Girl and I have been "planning'' this head since we found out about "crazy hair day" last week. Liberty spikes.

I've only done one other head in all my hairstyling days and, to tell you the truth, I think Alzabeth did most of them. I can't quite remember. They were on her friends head, I must have blocked the whole experience right out of my brain.

I don't claim perfection, I just claim "CRAZY".

On her sides, I french braided.

YES. I did.

Tomorrow's the last day of school.

The END

A worm excuse...

I have many excuses why I don't blog more often. Sometimes, this is what I get when I am blogging and not paying enough attention to my family.

Mr Smith sends in Thing 2 with treasures from the garden.

Or maybe, it's just because I've been telling people that they have worms, since I was in high school. But I don't think that's it.

YES, she was outside digging in the dirt in her jammies. And more importantly, Yes, I did french braid her hair like that. I'm awesome.
