All the way back in March, we went fishing at Diamond Fork. It was really actually fun. Max and Maddy fished while Ruby and I mostly hung out and took pictures of the mighty fisher people.
Total proof. Here I am...
This was Max's preferred way to carry Maddy across the (somewhat) raging river. He would hold on to her hip waders where the shoulder straps meet the wader part. Very wedgie like.
Discussing where to fish first.
Maddy sporting the Grandfahr concentration face. She was trying hard.
Here it is again, cuz it's so cute. I love that the kids do this. It gives me warm fuzzies.
Ruby with her Hello Kitty trucker hat on.
This is Maddy's preferred way to carry Ruby through the "muck" to the good stuff. The "good stuff" was rocks and moss and little water critters. They loved all the little "streams" that were everywhere. They dug in them with sticks and would show me everything they found.
This is also how Maddy brings Ruby back from the restroom before Sacrament meeting starts, on Sunday. Of course, they don't wear waders and trucker hats to church. That would be totally inappropriate.
This way worked to get to the muck too.
Max tying on some slimy thing to the fishing line.
Ruby, striking a pose. I think it's the " Monkey covering the ears" pose.
More proof that I was there. Aren't we cute?
Whu HOO FISH ON!

It warms my heart to see my (usually crusty to each other) children being so sweet and lovely.

One of the fish they caught. Ruby wanted to touch ALL of them. She's so gross.

Show me your best "scowls" Good job.
Max is NOT talking on the phone while Maddy does all the work. He was taking a picture to send to his friend, to brag that his DAUGHTER was catching all the fish.
Getting the hook out. Maddy has since gotten disgustingly brave at this task. It makes me cringe a little.

PS I'm using real actual names because I think someday I'll get my blog made into a book. I want my grand kids to not be confused. I mean, less confused. They are already going to be completely lost with how I talk - I mean, write.
The END
