The lesson for today....

Here is our stove.

Here are some farm fresh eggs. Aren't they cute?

Here is the crack between our stove and counter. I've always hated that crack.

Max learned that it is the perfect size for a cracked egg to slip through.

I learned that cleaning up slimy egg off of sub-floor, from under the stove while Max continues to make breakfast, isn't very easy.

We probably didn't need to experience that lesson to actually LEARN it.
The end.

I hate the crack between the stove and the counter too, though mine is not that wide... I don't think I'd like an egg to slip thru though...

Only too bad for you that you don't have your range built into your counter like me. No cracks. Only too bad for me that I don't have an oven that works. I think you may win this one.

I think Max is oh so clever to be able to slip and egg right through there. You should give him an award.

Cleaning up that egg mess looks like a real pain in the patootie. We have a crack by our stove too, and it's filled with I-don't-know-how-many-years of grease. Sooo nasty. I just wipe over the top of it and try not to look too hard. (In my defense, in case you are not Hillary and you're reading this, we just moved into a new apartment).
